Where Technology Meets Woodworking

Welcome to Bit & Grain Studio

I'm Brandon, an IT professional with a passion for woodworking, building real projects in my Bonney Lake garage. I combine my technical expertise with the craftsmanship I learned from my grandfather to create unique pieces and share my journey.

At Bit & Grain Studio, I explore how modern technology like AI can enhance traditional woodworking, making it more accessible for beginners and more efficient for everyone.

My Journey: From Woodworking Dreams to Inventory Solutions

When I started this venture, I thought I'd be like Matt Outlaw at 731 Woodworks and make beautiful projects with my IT twist. But once I started building, I quickly ran into organization issues. Where did I put that router bit? Do I have enough wood glue? What tools do I actually own?

That's when my Bit & Grain Inventory app was born. I'm a shop of 1, a developer of 1, and that's not even my day job. But I love it, and I made it for people like me. Makers who need to stay organized without the complexity of enterprise systems.

Beyond the app, I share my woodworking journey, recommend tools I actually use, and provide affiliate links to products that have earned their place in my workshop. Every recommendation comes from real experience in my garage.
